Say Brother, Can You Spare a Little Cheese?

That's right, intrepid Cheddarians, this week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier is about charity and holidays. Mostly.

1. What do you do with your spare change?
2. What prompted you to give some money to a stranger recently? If you have given money to a stranger recently, of course.
3. What charities do you support and why?
4. What's the kindest thing a stranger has done for you?
5. Do you wish people a "Merry Christmas", "Happy Holidays", "Seasons Greetings" or something else? Why did you choose it?
6. What's your most memorable moment of 2004 online? Offline?
7. What is your hope for 2005?

I hope everyone has a great holiday break. I will see you all in the new year. I hope 2005 is as fun and interesting as 2004 has been.

Happy Cheddar X to you all and to all a good night!

Retro X: Breakdown

This week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier is a trip down memory lane. It'll be a shorter trip for some and a longer trip for others but I hope the sights along the way are worth the trip.

Within the time period of High School:
5 People you wish you were still close to
4 Places you used to frequent
3 Classes you loathed
2 Teachers who made a difference
1 Moment to relive or erase.

Well that was kind of fun to put together. I hope its fun to take part in.

I should also note that the Cheddar X Bloglet subscription is going to be changing to NotifyList. Bloglet keeps grabbing drafts and publishing them and that's just completely unacceptable. So, sorry to Bloglet subscibers but things'll be changing again.

Have a happy and cheesy weekend!

It's Beginning to Look Alot like Cheddar X-Mas

More holiday inspired Cheddar X, It's Cheesier fun. Moving into the holiday season, I'm always curious about what people like and dislike about Christmas.

1. What do you like most about Christmas?
2. How have your Christmas perceptions changed over time?
3. Is it truly better to give than to receive?
4. What's your all time favorite Christmas present?
5. What gift are you most proud of giving to someone else?

Also, a couple of news thingies. Everyone say hi to Barb from All About Me(mes), she's the newest member of the cult Cheddar X. She also brought the broken subscription issue to my attention and I've fixed it on Bloglet so daily mailers should be functioning properly again.

I have also finally gotten around to buying the rights to www.cheddarx.com and will be slowly getting the new destination into shape over the next couple of weeks. If you come by here and the site's gone then you can either try CheddarX.com or swing by Intellectual Poison and I'll have the updated link there.

And, in the spirit of the season, I'd like to pass along Any Soldier, its a site that gets you in touch with troops in Iraq. You can send them a care package or letters or whatever. Its not that I support the war, I don't. But I do support the kids that are in that war and any taste of home that we can send them would be incredibly appreciated.

Traditional Cheese

Well, we must really be making headway, the Cheddar X, It's Cheesier has its own tiny little troll. Oh boy. Shame he's not very interesting though.

Anyway, this week's Cheese is about traditions and maybe some foreshadowing about 2005 resolutions and whatever. You can, as always, respond in the form of poetry if it makes you happy.

1. What holiday traditions mean the most to you?
2. What mean the least to you?
3. If you could create a new tradition, what would it be and why?
4. With 2004 drawing to a close, how would you grade yourself on your resolutions from last year?
5. What are you planning to resolve to do in 2005?

Not a big week this time around, just a few questions. And yes, I'm still working on getting the Cheddar X moved to better looking and more interactive digs. Anyone want to vollunteer some design aid? Drop me a note.

And that's the Cheddar for this week. Cheers!

Melted Cheddar

Since much of the country is gripped by this strange phenomenon called Winter, Easy sent over some questions designed to heat things up a bit. So here we go with this week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier.

1. Hottest place you've visited? Lived?
2. Song that gets you hot?
3. Person other than Signifigant Other that gets you hot?
4. Hottest movie scene?
5. Hottest sexual experience?
6. Hottest non-sexual experience?

Alright? Howzat workin' for ya?
Good? Now go and get yourself some turkey, some stuffing and go watch some football like a good citizen!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! And I'm giving Thanks to Easy for saving my bacon!

Thursday, November 18

Sociologist's Cheese

I don't know, the only theme that seemed to come out of this week's questions seem like questions a sociologist or psychologist might ask during an interview.

Anyway, here's this week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier. Hope its fun for you all.

1. What's the most bizarre news story that comes to mind? (link to it if you can)
2. What has caused you to lose faith in humanity lately?
3. What's caused you to believe in humanity?
4. What tasks would you most like to have an army of trained monkeys to do for you?
5. Is it morally more defensible to be prey or predator? Why?
6. What are your shortcuts at home? Work? (By shortcut, I mean, how do you save time during your day, not the route you take to the crapper!)
7. What's your favorite thing about Thanksgiving?

And I think that should just about do it for this week's Cheese.
I've got a couple of ideas percolating for next week but who knows what will happen as I'll be travelling. Anyone want to take over and guest host the Cheddar X next week?

Also, depending on how much free time I have next week, I might start migrating the Cheddar X to my own web space. It'll give me more control over the page. I will give alot of notice before moving away from here though. If you do happen to miss the notice then swing on by Intellectual Poison and there will be the correct link there. Its time to start putting in some more time to make the Cheddar X all that it can be.

Any site designers in the troop who want to work on a redesign?

Playing with Words: Cheddar Associations

I've got a growing list of questions for next week but I wanted to do a slightly detuned Cheddar X, It's Cheesier this week. Something not quite mindless but one that didn't require me to examine my entire belief system as I just don't have the time for it now.

So let's do a little Cheddar X word associations. You can opt to do the double association as we've done before or just go through the list once. I'm kind of down today so whatever makes you happy is cool. And I am going to make a distinct effort to now allow my mood to permeate this week's Cheese.

And now, onto the words....

Fluffy bunnies -
Coffee -
Flat tax -
Fair and open -
Truth -
Justice -
America -
The Culture of Fear -
Honesty -
Justice - (Ed. Note: DOH!!!)
Freedom -
Comfort -
Soothing -
Healing -
The Future -

Okay, that feels like a good place to come to a stop. Not an overly taxing Cheddar this week. But that's okay, sometimes it feels good to coast a little bit, you know?

By the way, everyone say hi to Mikhail of Coffee Talk, the latest brave soul to willingly join the ranks of the Cheddar X. Stop by and give him a howdy.

Thursday, November 4

Bitter Pill Cheddar

Warning, you might want to skip this week if you've had your fill of politics. I'm bitter, pissed off and am going to use the Cheddar X, It's Cheesier to see if I can find some things out.

I'll totally understand if the rest of the universe is ready to really move on. I'm getting there but I've got a little more to go.

1. What went wrong on Tuesday's election?
2. What would you be willing to die for?
3. Is it the same thing you'd be willing to kill for? (if there's anything you're willing to kill for).
4. What is your personal plan for the next four years?
5. Do you think the US will be as divided and angry in four years? More or less?

Okay, that's about all I can do for now. I'm sure I'll have more questions moving forward but I am also trying to put the nightmare of Tuesday behind me and focus on the future.

Have a good Cheddar, folks. Next week I think I'm leaning towards some word associations.

The Cheese is Old and Moldy

In fact, its probably dead. Which is perfect because this week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier theme is all about the end of the road that is life.

Here we go with the Dead Cheddar X!

1. What would you write on your epitaph?
2. What would you like to be remembered for?
3. What would the title of your memoirs be?
4. Who would you like to play you in the movie of your life? Who should play you?
5. If you had one moment to do over, to either change the outcome or savor the moment again, which moment would it be?

That's about it for me for this week. Some new stuff in the works for next week, I think. It'll depend on how much time my new master, GTA: San Andreas, gives me for other activities.

Bonus points for who can tell me where the title comes from? Two hints, its not from Star Wars but it is from a movie.

There's the cheese, get it while it's muerte!

Regression Cheese

Found via geeky.chick.blog

This week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier is all about the breakdown. Start big and get all granular.

Ten movies you'd watch over and over:
Nine people you enjoy the company of:
Eight things you're wearing:
Seven things on your mind:
Six objects you touch every day:
Five things you do every day:
Four bands (etc) that you couldn't live without:
Three of your favorite songs at this moment:
Two people who have influenced your life the most:
One person who you love more than anyone in the world:

And there we go, this Cheese is ready for the masses!

Side note, anyone have a good replacement option for the Tag Board?

Opposites Day Cheddar

This week's theme could also be called the Dick Cheney Approach to Truth Cheddar X but I'm trying to stay as apolitical on the Cheddar X as possible.

Here's another new idea I've been wanting to try for a little while. This week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier is about answering 180 degrees from how you normally would.

So that, if the question is: What is your favorite song? and the song you hate more than anything else in the whole world is your right answer, for me it would have to be anything by Christina Aquilera or Limp Bizkit.

Sound like fun? Alrighty then, here we go. Remember, opposites. And try to really sell it as if you mean it. Spin it into the truth if you can.

1. What's your favorite food?
2. What Constitutional Amendment is the most important?
3. What needs to be added to the Amendments?
4. Is truth relative?
5. Who's the best leader your nation has right now?
6. What lets you sleep soundly at night?

That should be enough for now. Remember though, write the opposite of what you actually think but try to put a spin on it so that it sounds like that's what you really believe. And yeah, I'm going to paste a few disclaimers on mine.

So there's the Cheddar X, It's Cheesier for this week. With some luck we'll get back on the weekly or bi-weekly schedule from here on out.

Hard Cheese

Warning, this is easily the most difficult Cheddar X yet. With that in mind, I'm planning on taking at least a week to respond to as many of the points as possible.

Because its too easy to get sucked into the negativity of the current electoral season in the good old US of A, I thought it might be an interesting exercise to sample the X-nation's ideals for various aspects of a commander-in-chief. No endorsements, no name calling, just plain what you think should be done and (if necessary) how it could be done.

I expect that this will be a tough week of the Cheddar X, It's Cheesier but then, nothing worthwhile is ever easy, is it?

So here's how I'm envisioning this. I'll lay out a bunch of typical or maybe atypical presidential platforms, take the one's you want, build yourself a platform based on what you think should be done. Articulate your position.

1. Education
2. Environment (which can be further broken down)
3. Economy
3a. Employment
3b. Deficit
3c. GNP
4. Foreign policy
4a. Nuclear proliferation
4b. Human rights violations
4c. Genocide
4d. United Nations
5. Terrorism
6. Homeland security
7. Taxation
8. Alternate energy sources
9. Healthcare
10. Social security
11. Abortion
12. Same sex marriage
13. Assault weapons or other gun control
14. Drugs
15. Big tobacco
16. Big business
17. Corporate corruption
18. Frivolous lawsuits
19. Obesity
20. Overconsumerism
21. National malaise
22. Smelly people on the subway
23. SUV's
24. Homelessness
25. Steroids in baseball

There are probably plenty of other topics to add here, if you want me to add a new topic or a subset (like breaking out the environment into more than just the one umbrella topic) then leave a comment or drop me an email (don't forget to drop the nospam) and I'll update the post.

I hope this is an interesting and worthwhile exercise. If not then let me know and I'll try not to do it again.

Thursday, September 16

Dark Cheese

I was thinking that it might be interesting to explore the darker side of the cheese, the side that never sees the sun and is bitter and mean because of it. So here we go with some darker Cheddar X, It's Cheesier!

1. What was the last thing you regret saying the moment it left your lips or keyboard?
2. When was the last time you wished ill upon someone? Why?
3. What's wrong with you?
4. Who would most benefit from having sense knocked into them?
5. Who would you just most like to knock around?
6. What is the worst part of your day?

And let's slice it off, wrap it up and send it out from there.

By the way, if any Cheddar X'ians want to step into the back office and help out on the production side then drop me an Email (drop the nospam) and let me know how you'd like to help out.

Happy Cheese!

A Jug of Wine, Some Bread, Some Cheddar and Thou

That's right folks, this weeks Cheddar X, It's Cheesier is dedicated to art of romance and sensuality.

1. What's the sexiest name you've ever heard?
2. What's your idea of a romantic evening?
3. Where's the most romantic place you know?
4. What's the most romantic gesture someone's made to you?
5. What was your most romantic gesture?

And there it goes, this week's Cheddar is free, free to fly out into the great big internet. Hope you all have a lovely week. I'm just hoping the air conditioner works today.

Friday, September 3

Back to the Core Competency Cheddar

Alright, I'm trying to get the Cheddar X, It's Cheesier back on track after nearly getting derailed earlier this week.

1. Who's your favorite superhero?
2. Who's your favorite villain?
3. What was your last brush with greatness?
4. Who is the last celebrity you've seen in public?
5. What's the most important event on your horizon?
And one political question, I can't help it.
6. What did you think of Bush's speech last night?

And that's the Cheddar for this week, sorry for it being so late. And I'll start thinking about how to make it run smoother, maybe incorporate more of the Cheddar X Nation into the mix.

Tuesday, August 31

Tick Tock

No Cheddar X style questions.

I'm considering shutting down the Cheddar X. Or re-orging it into a less time consumptive chore. Maybe a once a month Cheddar X? Its distracting me from more important stuff like my son, my hound, my wife and house work.

I'd love some help with it but no one seems to have any interest in helping.

And with me the sole respondent to last week's questions, I'm kind of ready to pack it in.

Anyone got any thoughts?
I'll take a lack of response as a pretty solid indicator that the concept has stretched far enough to snap and break and I'll shutter the site.

Wednesday, August 25

I Didn't Mean to Go There Cheese

This week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier started out innocently enough with some nice little questions about words and stories but then it fell into Olympic fever. My apologies but here we go anyway, its late, I'm tired and mildly sunburned. Have a good time with the Cheese.

1. What's the cleverest word play you've read or made up?
2. What's the most outrageous cover story you've ever tried to make up?
3. Did it work?
4. Favorite line from a song? (Eighteen double oh and a table dance).
5. What has been your favorite Olympic moment?
6. What sport shouldn't be in the Olympics?
7. What sport should be in the Olympics?
8. What's wrong with the Olympics?

And that is what we've got for this week, folks. Anyone got any input for next week? No? No worries, I'll think of something.

Friday, August 13

GSW Cheese

For those that aren't knowing, GSW doesn't stand for gun shot wound, it stands for Gratuitous Swearing Week which I've been running a little under the radar on Intellectual Poison.

Due to Easy's influence and Heather's seconding the motion, this week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier has an optional twist to it (since I know there are folks out there who don't enjoy the simple and crude pleasure of a well constructed invective) to pepper your Cheddar with some spice verbiage.

With GSW this week would have been called Lowered Expectations Cheese. So let's get to the questions, alright?

1. Who or what was the last thing you were really looking forward to that ended up not being at all what you'd expected or hoped for?
2. Who have you lost respect for recently? Why?
3. What or who disappointed you lately?
4. How have you disappointed someone close to you?
5. What chore would you most like your significant other to do or finish?
6. What is your biggest self-inflicted danger to your health? (I.e. in my case I have a serious and uncontrollable requirement for lots and lots of Cheetos even though I know that my insides are probably day glo orange by now).

And that's the Cheese that's fit to be cheesed. You are welcome to sprinkle your responses with Gratuitous Swearing if you like. But it is, like all other things Cheddary and X'y, its a do it if you like it deal.

Good cheese to you!

Would You Rather Cheddar or Provolone?

Taking a cue from some other question type memes, here's the Cheddar X, It's Cheesier Would You Rather.....

Would you rather:

Sing country songs buck naked to the PTA or come across your "art" photos on a porn site?

Have a biker gang for neighbors or five chatty Chihuahuas within barking distance?

Be addicted to sniffing modeling glue or be addicted to huffing butane from Bic lighters?

Lick a 9 volt battery or lick the bottom of your foot?

Ketchup soup or mustard soup?

Live in a great house in a place you don't like or a bad house in a place you love?

Spend a weekend at a spa or spend a weekend camping?

And finally, just a couple of questions this week to maintain the continuity.
1. What would you host a cable tv program about?
2. What or who do you lust for?
3. You've got a spare $5,000, what do you do with it?
4. How often do you see your family?

Alright, I'm done, I've got work to get to working on and rooms to clear out so I can start laying out the new floor.

Have a good Cheddar, let me know if you liked this one or not and maybe it'll get added back into the queue.

Quick Cheese Tuesday

Alright, let's get the lead out, get this week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier all taken care of, there. Alright.

No theme this week, just lots of questions scientifically designed to make you dig into your innermost being. Bah! Enough jibber jabber, let's get to the Q & A!

1. Who was your most unlikely friendship?
2. What Fear Factor stunt would you design?
3. Which stunt would defeat you?
4. What movies do you know by heart?
5. What is your favorite post on someone else's blog?
6. What's your favorite leftover food?
7. Who was the last person who challenged your beliefs and got you to change your mind?
8. How do you waste time you should spend doing useful stuff?

And that, good friends and lookee-loos, is this week's Cheddar X!

Thursday, July 29

Five W's and an H Cheddar X

The first go at the concept Cheddar from last week, this week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier is the 5 W's and an H. And I've already got next week's Cheese ready too! Love getting ahead of the curve!

The questions this week may be slightly obscure but I think that leaves things open to interpretation and that makes reading the responses all the more fun.

1. Who always puts a smile on your face?
2. What was your most memorable first date?
3. Where did you first feel bliss?
4. When did you realize that life really isn't fair, nor does it have to be?
5. Why are so many people angry?
6. How do you make the world a better place?

And there we have it, a fresh new Cheesy Cheddar X!

Got a question for the masses? Leave it in the comments on the board to the right.
Happy Cheesing!

Thursday, July 22

Summer Cheese

Here we go with another Cheddar X, It's Cheesier. No real theme to this week and its kind of short but its what I came up with. Have fun.

1. What did you do on your summer vacation?
2. If you could stop time, what would you do?
3. What is your hidden talent?
4. What's your dream house like?
5. What's your favorite hand or arm gesture?

I had an idea for a new kind of Cheddar X, one in which the questions begin with Who, What, When, Where, Why and How. The questions could all be based around a single topic or written up individually. Does this sound like a good idea or no?

Anyway, hope you all have a great weekend.

Wednesday, July 14

Surgical Strike Cheese

As most of my recent days have been revolving around my newborn son and a post over on Intellectual Poison about his recent appointment with the pediatrician to circumsize him, this week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier is loosely based on surgicality. And maybe a random question or two to fill out this week's cheese.

1. If you had a choice, would you be circumsized or not? Why or why not? (ladies, pretend to be men or skip this one)
2. What elective surgery would you have performed on yourself if expense wasn't an object?
3. What body part of yours is perfect just the way it is?
4. What was your most serious or involved surgery?
5. Ceserean section or vaginal birth?
6. Epidural or drug free child birth?
7. Which is worse, the anticipation or the recovery?

Unrelated questions:
8. How has your blog's focus shifted over the course of its run?
9. What has been the main cause of the shift, if there has been one?
10. How often do you redesign your site?
11. Are you stats mad (interpret that how you will) or don't care about hits, page visits and the like?

Maybe this should be a double Cheddar? Oh well, two cheeses in the hand are worth a dozen in the bushes.

As always, take from the Cheddar X, It's Cheesier what you please. Some questions are definitely better than others.

Thursday, July 8

Baby Fun Cheddar

Because Easy opened the door and I'm now living the 24/7 baby dream, how about a baby oriented Cheddar X, It's Cheesier this week? Works for me.

1. What is your earliest memory (presumably as a baby but maybe not)?
2. What scares or scared you most about having kids?
3. How did your life change or how do you think your life will change when you have children?
4. What is your favorite thing about babies?
5. Is there anything sweeter than a sleeping baby?

And that's the Cheese for this week, its a short one and I still haven't finished my last week's Cheddar. But its all good, I'm about as happy as I've ever been with my new son.

Wednesday, June 30

Best and Worst Cheddar X Ever

It was the best of Cheddar, it was the worst of Cheddar.

This week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier is reflective of the roller coaster that's been my life of late. I'm curious about the highs and lows that others have experienced and so, this week's questions are all about the extremes.

So let's get to it, eh?
1. What was the best thing that happened to you this week? The worst?
2. What's the best thing someone's done for you (recently or not so recently)? What's the worst thing someone's done to you (again, recently or not so recently)?
3. What's the best thing about your job? Worst?
4. What's the best new website you've found? Worst?
5. What's the best book you've read? Worst?
6. What's the best movie you've seen? Worst?
7. What's the best meal you've had? Worst?
8. What's the best holiday? Worst?
9. What's the best thing in your future? Worst?
10. What's the best quote you know? Worst?
[Update: Sorry for the late addition but I was just reminded of another good Best/Worst question by Lily.
11. What's your best word? Worst word? (and yes, this is open to some interpretation)]

Okay, I got on a little tear there for a moment. Let's wrap it up and ship this cheese out!
Some ideas percolating for next week and I'll have the time to get them up early, I think and hope.

Thursday, June 24

Deserted Island Cheese

Taking a cue from Jeff and his question about the shape of your island, I thought it would be nice to go with a full on deserted island themed Cheddar X, It's Cheesier this week.

Jeff's question first.
1. What shape would your island be?
And now a running with it I shall go....
2. Would you be more at home on a deserted island or in a crowded city?
3. How would you keep yourself entertained on a deserted island?
4. Who would you miss most if you were on a deserted island?
5. Who would you least like to be stuck on a deserted island with?
6. What would be the best thing about being on a deserted island?
7. What one thing would you love to take with you?

That's the Cheddar for this week. Next week may be really early or not at all since, by this time next week, I may be a father.

Wednesday, June 16

Regular Cheese Aims to Please

The week's fly by in a blur marked only by the ever swelling belly of Mrs. Huh? as we prep for the arrival of Baba Huh?

This week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier isn't themed but I hope there are some decent questions in the mix, enough to get those juices flowing.

First couple of questions come from Karen at Princess In Pain.
1. Describe how you saw yourself in high school.
2. If you could select the sex of your baby, would you? Which would you choose and why?
3. What would you name you child if it were a girl? A boy?

And the rest are from my own sick and tormented mind.
4. What are the best and worst pick up lines you've heard/used?
5. What's the worst break up line you've heard or used?
6. Heard any good jokes lately?
7. Is the glass half full or half empty or did the dog knock it over?
8. When was the last time you were tricked?

And that's all the cheese that's fit to serve up for this week. Everything else is just too locked into thematic questions.

I have a bunch of new concept Cheddar's in the works. I will try to roll them out in an alternating fashion with a week of regular questions and then a week of new stuff. And that means that next week is an experimentation week!

I've been toying with the idea of an Oppo Cheese week where responses are the opposite of what you really think. Another idea is for a Surreal Cheddar X one of these weeks. And then there's the Numbered Cheese, a Problem Solving Cheddar, A Fill in the Blank Cheddar, a fitness/exercise based Cheddar Lite, some more musical Cheese and I'm sure I've already spaced on a couple of other concepts in the works. Oh yeah, a Newspaper Headline Cheddar (and yes, I will explain that one better) too.

So there's the Cheddar X, It's Cheesier for this week.

Monday, June 7

Cheesy Job Interview Cheddar

Sort of a twisted cheese this week and I'm not sure if it'll work out but hey, the Cheddar X, It's Cheesier is all about experimentation and exploration in the name of science! This week's cheese is a hypothetical job interview.

To crudely paraphrase Socrates, if it ain't examined then it ain't worth living.
So let's get on with the examination.

1. What skills do you need to develop most?
2. What did you like most about your last job?
3. What has been your favorite job?
4. What was your worst or most degrading job?
5. How do you deal with inter-office personality conflicts?
6. In what kinds of situations do you find it most difficult to deal with people?
7. How do you handle crisis situations?

And that is this week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier.

Astute observers might have noticed that I've added a Cheddar X Link List to the sidebar with Memes List and The Daily Meme. More exposure is more better for the Cheddar! Bring it on! Spread the cheese all over the cyber cracker!

I've got a couple of tricks up my sleeve for next week. But please, ask questions, email me or post them on the Tag Board. I can use all the help I can get some days and with the baby about to come any day now I might even have to skip a week if I don't plan properly.

Thursday, June 3

Hijacked Cheese

I've had almost no time to think about this week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier much less write it out. So I'm going to do the next best thing to doing it myself. I'm stealing this week's cheese. This week's questions are all shamelessly stolen from Jennifer's History and Stuff.

1. What do you have planned for the future?
2. Who is the single most important person in your life and why?
3. Describe yourself in five words.
4. You can spend one night alone with any one person you wish--who is it?

Hail to the Cheese

That's trite folks, this week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier gets political with its moldy, oldy self.

So, enough jibber jabber, let's get to the questions!

1. If you had a choice of dinner with George W. Bush or John Kerry, which would it be, why and what would you serve?
2. What are your three major criteria for choosing who to vote for?
3. Do you plan to vote "for" someone or "against" someone?
4. What bothers you most about this presidential election?
5. How much does a candidate's religious affiliation have to do with your decision to vote for him?
6. When do you think the first female president will be elected?
7. Who, among prominent politicians, would you most like to see in the White House?
8. Who, among all people, would you like to see in the White House?

Phew!

I hope we can all still be friends after this flaming Cheese!

I've got some ideas for next week already but let's get to them when the getting's good, shall we? Why yes, we shall!

Humpty Cheddar X

Alright, this week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier is getting out early. Some decent questions (I think) and I've come to the conclusion that I have a serious addiction to the use of parantheses.

1. What's your favorite board game?
2. If you had to sing a song on national TV (ala the bleh-worthy American Idol), what song would you sing?
3. If you had to sing a duet, what song would you sing and with who?
4. If your life was made into a movie, what would the title be?
5. If your life was made into a porn movie, what would the title be?
6. Who would you want to play you in the movie of your life?
7. In the porn?

From Easy,
8. What are some of the top bumper stickers you've seen or thought of (I do think this is a repeat but that's cool, we've got a lot of new members)?

Next week, I can't help it folks, I've been sucked into the political maelstrom. Next week will be the first (but not necessarily the last) Political Cheddar X. I'll fully understand if some of you don't want to play as politics makes many, if not most, people retch uncontrollably these days.

And one last thought, would folks mind noting which of each week's questions they liked the best? That way I can get a little feedback and build from it to create a better and more powerful Cheddar X!

Midweek Cheddar

Looking to keep getting the Cheddar out earlier in the week to give folks a better chance of taking part. Here's this week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier

1. How many computer passwords do you currently have?
2. When was the last time you nearly went insane because you'd forgotten which one you were using?
3. What's your favorite board game?
4. How long have you been at your current job?
5. How much "push" would it take to get you to walk?

and one via Guessboy
6. What's the best t-shirt slogan or comment that you've come across?

There's the Cheddar. I'm tired and want to go back to bed but that won't be happening until much, much, much later today. Thank goodness there's coffee and yummy flavored creamers. I think I'll be making mine a triple today.

Afterthought Cheddar

You know, the funny thing is that I had all these questions ready to go for this week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier on Monday afternoon and just got too busy with everything else going on.

Anyway, this week see's more stolen questions from Blown Fuse and then some of my own as well.

1. Desert island scenario: 3 belongings.
2. If you didn't have the name you have, what name would you like to have?
3. What's the craziest thing you ever did while drunk and/or high?
4. What movie is your favorite "guilty pleasure"? (You could watch it over and over but are embarrassed to admit it).

And then a couple more from me.
5. When was the last time you ate more than you should have because the food was so good? What were you eating?
6. How many rechargable items do you have?
7. Will the rising costs of gas affect your driving habits? Or, is the cost of gas rising out of control where you live?

And that's this week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier.

I should let you all know that I am hyper political these days and am striving mightily to avoid a Political Cheddar X. I will continue to take my meds and head down other paths but hey, if you're down for some political cheese then let me know.

Other than that, have a wicked weekend!

Nacho Cheddar X

As in, "hey man, that's nacho (not your) cheese" that's right, campers, this week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier was heisted from Blown Fuse because she had her readers send in questions and they kicked butt.

And away we go.....
1. Name 3 things you absolutely love.
2. If you had to give 2 of them up which would they be (and why)?
3. What is your all time favorite memory EVER?
4. What is the one thing that happened in high school that would make you avoid your class reunion?
5. What is your dream job, no matter how untrained you might be or unrealistic and bizarre it might be?
6. What's one thing you think you're really good at?

Well this was a nice and easy week to get the Cheddar X, It's Cheesier up. I've got two secret X's in the works right now although I may end up trashing one. Stay tuned to X!

Come and Sit with the Cheddar for a Spell

Yep, its time again for some tasty Cheddar X, It's Cheesier questions.

1. What is the worst or best insult someone's said to you?
2. What's the lamest platitude you know?
3. Do you pick up hitchhikers? When was the last time you did?
4. What's your favorite fruit and how do you like to eat it?
5. What's your favorite drive or drives?
6. Which begs the question, what's your favorite hike or walk?

Yeah, that'll cover it for this week. Not sure what's on tap for next week but I'll try to get it up earlier in the week if possible because I know most of us don't do much blogging over the weekend since we're not at work.

And a double welcome this week, first of we've got Machine Gun Sun who needs some validation to stave off a pending nervous breakdown so make sure to stop by and tell her how awesome she is.

And then we also have Caught in the X Fire (a blog after my heart!).

Everybody, this is Candida and Stevie. Play nice and share the cheese with them!

Tip Toeing through the Cheddar

Trying to get a jump on this week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier, I'm putting the questions up early.

No theme this week, just random things that cross my mind long enough for me to record somewhere, somehow.

1. What does party mean to you? (I.e. when you go and get your party on, what does that mean?)
2. What was the first thing you thought or said when you saw your significant other for the first time?
3. Do you talk to yourself? Why?
4. What's been your biggest personal change in the last ten years?
5. What are you most looking forward to?

And that's all I've got for this week.

Friday, April 9

Friday Cheese

Yeah, I know, its Friday, where's the Cheddar? Its been a busy week and I'd meant to get this up last night but oh well, here we go with this week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier (and yeah, I know I'd mentioned the number X concept last week but I'm still struggling with it, bear with me).

1. When was the last time you caught yourself before doing something really stupid? What was it?
2. What was your last nightmare about?
3. How do you entertain yourself in traffic?
4. Who inspires you?
5. What trait in the opposite sex makes you wonder most?
6. Which of the seven deadly sins is the worst? Why?
7. Do you blog on the weekends much or at all?

And that's it, my tank's empty, I need to sleep for about a month (being woken up by a puppy with razors for claws scratching at your back gets old pretty quickly).

By the way, for the newer folks, you've got questions? Toss them into the comments or on the Zonkboard. I can use all the help I can get some weeks. Other weeks (usually when I drive into work alot for some reason) I have plenty of questions flowing.

So that's the Cheddar X, It's Cheesier for this week. Have a great weekend everybody! As long as mine includes a good long nap with a baseball game or two on, I'll be a happy camper.

More Cheddary Word Associations

Because I had such a good time with the word association Cheddar from a couple of weeks ago, I felt like doing another round of Cheddar X, It's Cheesier Word Associations but with a twist.

In a corrupted form of the old game of telephone crossed with the original word associations, this week's X is the Double Word Associations. There are a couple of ways to do it and I think any of them are fine, you can either go through the list once and then go through it again on the first new list or go with the first two different words that each word in the list evokes (and yes, Jim, I did add that "differently" just for you).

For example, if the word is Capital, my first association is lowercase, after completing the list, I would come back to the newly generated word list and do the same word association game on the new words (is it me or am I waaaaay overexplaining this? hey, cut me some slack, the puppy had me up three times during the night and then up for good at about 4:30).

Anyway, let's bust it out and have some cheesy fun, shall we? Oh yes, we shall. And no, I don't think there's any theme to this week's list although I was tempted to rhyme them all but we can save that for another time.

Mel Gibson -
Pot belly -
Pork -
New York Yankees -
March Madness -
Iraq -
Google -
April Fool's Day -
Sweet -
Career -
Economy -
Forest -
Jessica Simpson -
Enzyte Smiley Guy -
Opening Day -
Motorcycle -
Highway Patrol -
Meth lab -
Medicinal Marijuana -
Fat America -
Fast food -
Coffee -
Commercial flight -
Patriotism -
Treason -
Sedition -
Final Solution -

Now don't forget, this is the Double Word Association Week, you can either go through and do each word twice or go through the list and then treat the new list like a whole new list. Either way, I'm curious to see how well this works out.
And yeah, as before, I could just keep rolling along until the list is far too large to be of any use. But let's cap it there, wrap it up and send it packing. And I'm leaning towards a numerical Cheddar for next week, I've had a month or two to let it fester in my head and I think its almost ready to be uncorked.

There's this week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier! Go get some!

Wednesday, March 24

Early and Short Cheddar

Yep, Wednesday Cheddar X, It's Cheesier, no theme, just a few questions I've been kicking around for a little while

1. What would you want written on your epitaph?
2. What do you collect and why?
3. What's the dumbest legal action you know of?
4. What single decision in your life do you wish you could change? (might be a double, oh well)
5. Some people resemble their dogs, do you know anyone that resembles their name?
And from Robert
6. What's your favourite / most used unit of time?
Which makes me wonder.
7. What's the best internet time device you've seen so far?

And yeah, that's it. This week's Cheddar is all done and ready for the chomping. Dig in and spread it around!

Next up: Sarcastic Word Associations, Themed Word Associations or Double Word Associations because I had a blast with the last round and am eager to try it again.

Monday, March 22

Welcome to the Cheese!

I should have done this on Friday but things got a little busy and its now Monday so what are you gonna do?

Anyway, a big welcome shout out to Heather from No Particular Order. In her responses to last week's Cheddar X she gave me an interesting idea that I'm curious about how to implement and would love some input. Its sort of a new take on the old game, Telegraph. Or maybe its a double word association? I'm not sure.

Anyway, here's what she did "Linux = Linus = Snoopy".

I've been working on how to do it and maybe it makes the most sense to just call it a double word association. Have a list of words, write in the first that pops into your mind on them, go through the list and then go through it again but working off of the new words. Anybody got any insights to share?

So, welcome, Heather!

Speed Cheese

A festering concept for this week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier. Word associations! Oh boy! If anyone's not been in therapy then here's how this works, read each line and type in the first thing that pops into your head, it doesn't necessarily have to be a single word but that's the general idea. And once we're all done, I'll be able to compile that nice marketing profile and sell it to DoubleClick. Nah, not really.

When I say:
Olympics, you say? =
Politics =
John Kerry =
George Bush =
Osama =
Same-sex marriage =
Todd Bertuzzi =
Barry Bonds =
The Passion of the Christ =
Beach =
Britney Spears =
Paris Hilton =
Microsoft =
France =
Hans Blix =
Linux =
MTV =
Outsource =
Hummer H2 =
Honor =
Love =
Courteney Love =

I'm sure I could just keep rolling with it but that should be plenty for now. If you feel like expounding on any of the topics then feel free.
Happy Cheddar X'ing!

Thursday, March 11

Is it Thursday Already?

Wow, this has been a fast week! I'd intended on posting questions on Tuesday but seeing as its now Thursday that didn't quite come to pass.

Anyway, here is this week's Cheddar X, It's Cheesier, dig in and have some fun.

1. What's your favorite form of corporate or governmental irony? (I.e. a bike company called Huffy)
2. What are your favorite acronyms?
3. Do you have personal acronyms? What are they?
4. Where do you shop online?
5. What do you buy online?
6. What would you do if you were falsely accused of shoplifting?
7. What's your take on Feng Shui? Hooey or truey?

And that's all I've got for this week.
Sorry, got a lot of work stuff going on right now or I'd ramble on for a bit. But instead, I've gotta get back to work.
Happy Cheddaring!

By the way, there has been a links purge as of this afternoon. I checked the sites before dropping them but if you got dropped and don't want to be dropped then drop me a dropping note to say don't drop me.

Thursday, March 4

Busy Day Cheddar X

I haven't had time to map out the Number X that I've been considering for the last couple of weeks so we're passing on that for now and going back to the standard question set. And, since today is a busy day in the Huh? house, we're just going to jump right into the Cheddar X, It's Cheesier

1. Where do you do your best thinking?
2. What was the last thing you gave away?
3. What generation do you most identify with? What generation interests you the most?
4. What was your favorite pet growing up?
5. What keeps you up at night?
6. What do you love about your significant other?

Wham-bam, there she goes, another cheesy Cheddar X, It's Cheesier in the bag.

Side note: AllGuinness, my patron saint of net thingies that kickass, has put together a little Cheddar X rating tool that's still in process but shows some real promise. It was just a thought to add a little competition to the mix by having ratings of each week's Cheddar X.

Stop by, give him some feedback and encouragement. He's also the guy who put together the Blinky Linker that puts together a visual representation of the interlinkings between blogs so that, if I'd gotten it set up here, mousing over any blog in the Cheddar X Roll call would highlight the other blogs that that blog I'm moused over is linked to. Its a really cool concept and I need to play with the toy more since he's gone to 2.0 which automates alot more of the process.
